Here’s the question:
Hello, Fist I want to say I love your blog, and am so glad I signed up for email from you. Now I don’t miss a thing! Thanks. My question: I have a couple rooms where I want to put up beadboard. The rooms’ walls are 7&1/2 feet high on one side and 9 feet high on the opposite side, making the 2 end walls slanted in height. My original idea was to put the bead board up the wall about 5&1/2 feet, give or take. What height will look good on and 7&1/2 foot wall and a 9 foot wall? I don’t have a very good eye for this kind of thing…
Thanks again,
Dianne

I recorded my answer here, and I’d love to hear other readers thoughts on this! I’ve been thinking and thinking on this one and I’m just not sure! Open for opinions here!
We have walls with the same measurements. When we installed bead board, we wanted it to go 2/3 of the way up the wall. So we averaged the height of both walls, and then ended up adding a few inches because it looked better just a little higher. Even after all of that, we decided to put bead board up to the ceiling on the highest wall. It just looked odd otherwise.
Just wanted to thank Suzanne for her insight into this bead board dilemma. We have FINALLY moved in and I have started putting up the bead board. I decided to go with 65″. It looks really nice on the 7&1/2 foot wall. I am seriously considering her suggestion of going all the way to the ceiling on the highest wall, but have not gotten to that wall yet. FYI this is a manufactured home that I am trying to give more of a cottage feel. Will post pics when I have more done!
