Take a look at this picture that found its way into my world today:
I really thought the use of cabinets with glass doors at each end of a mattress to create a day-bed was pretty cool!
Easy DIY Day Bed
You could go out and buy a couple of stock wall cabinets right now. Add some finished end panels made of high-quality plywood finished to match, put a counter on the top and you’re done! Sort of…
I might be slightly over-simplifying things, but it really isn’t too hard to create this. A little imagination and you can come up with a dozen ways to accomplish this idea.
No matter how you do it, this is a great look IMHO! Love the little office too! Not so sure about that little pink cylindrical pillow thing (somebody tell me the technical name for those!)… but I suppose it does add a “splash of color!”.

I LOVE this idea! We were just gifted a set of bunkbeds, so now I have to figure out what to do with the twin sized bed that used to be in my son’s room. I figured I would put it in an upstairs “toy” room, and now I’m completely inspired! Now to find some cheap dressers or cabinets . . . hmm!
I have never seen this idea before. It is very clever. I will have to file this idea away in case we need to utilize it in the future.
Oh and Tim, that cylindrical pillow thingie, it’s called a bolster. Some might even call it a neck roll.
LOVE this idea… we have been wanting to incorporate a guest bed into our playroom without making the bed the focus of the room. this would kill 2 birds w/one stone… in the majority of the time the day bed could serve as a couch to sit and read etc. still be a guest bed, AND the cabients (or maybe bookshelves?!) would serve as storage for the playroom.
