Ever wish you could see what color would look best on your front door? I spent some time yesterday playing with Photoshop to see if I could do just that.
Pretty neat, huh? You can see larger, non-flashy, versions of these over at Blissful Home where I write a weekly column. While you’re there, look around a little…there is a lot to see and read there.
Of course, it’s my mission in life to tie everything back in with the upcoming Remodeling Guy Round-Up and I think this helps. What if you did a post showing pictures of what you WANT to do, even if you haven’t done it yet? That would work.
The idea is to encourage everyone by showing what people are doing, dreaming about, and have done in the past. I hope you join in on May 1st.
Back to the flashy door… which color do you like best?
I really like the black! I think that looks really pretty! My second choice would be the red, I think!
Oh, I just got PHotoshop elements and I am dying to learn to use it. I need to set aside a few hours to just play with it! What a great idea!

Love the black for sure. I am contemplating painting (with spray paint of course) my shutters black. I guess I could try that on Photoshop as well? I am pretty sure that I am not tech savvy enought to do that.
I like the white and then maybe the yellow for that door. It’s neat to see the different colors without having to paint it five times to discover you liked the first one the best!

the yellow or blue. I love my home to emanate warmth & happiness. A yellow door would always look happy & make someone smile. =]
And the blue is a very nice, calming color. Reminds me of the beach.

Surprisingly, I like the black best. Followed by the white! I say “surprisingly” because we have a black door right now that I’d really like to paint! ( I was thinking either red, green, or charcoal. )
Of course, our house isn’t a beautiful stone house, either.

It’s amazing what a huge difference the black and white make.
I mean, I know they are opposites and all but wow–what a great idea!

black….then happy yellow.
We just got elements…can’t wait to try this!

I’d pick blue – it seems to harmonize with the stonework well.
I *do* like the black, and the white would be safe – but I think I like the blue best.

For this house the black and white make my eye the happiest!

I LOVE the black, followed by the white! No surprise there, as my house is mostly black and white/cream. I’m wondering, would you do a post on exterior paint colors? I was just searching the net yesterday for “exterior paint color schemes” and the like and it’s surprising how little info there is out there. I played around on Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore’s sites, but am still needing some inspiration. I know you can provide me with that! (I have a cookie cutter suburban one-story FL stucco and would love for you to use pics of a similar house in your post!!!) How’s THAT for demanding? LOL
The yellow door is the one that I liked the best which is totally surprising to me. I would never think to paint a door yellow. I would then have to say black would be my next runner up!
Have fun playing…
This has definitely helped me make up my mind to paint my sidelights as well as my front door!

Cool! I would generally never pick yellow but I felt it looked the warmest and happiest in this case. Normally I would have shouted out black for sure!
What a diff an acutal visual makes! I think I’ll try this with my home before I paint out the trim and all that. 🙂
